Irish heritage celebrated in Rock Hill

By Matt Shortall - editor

Dutch's Tavern could barely contain the merry crowd that turned out to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day a week early.
Saint Patrick's Day came a week early for those in Rock Hill. Hundreds of people gathered along Rock Hill Drive to take in the ninth annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The parade featured local fire departments and ambulance corps, as well as area Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops. The Walker Valley Marching Band filled the streets with music, as well as the Firefighter McPadden Pipes and Drums of the Goshen Emerald Society.
The Rock Hill Business and Community Association thanked all the local businesses that helped support the parade through donating to their raffle, including Dutch's Tavern, Black Bear Fuel Oil, Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun Park, Brew, Pizza the Rock, The Rock Hill Trading Post, Rock Hill Service Center, Rock Hill Tax Service, All American Event Rentals and the Lochmor Golf Course.

If you missed last week's parade in Rock Hill, have no fear!
You can still take in the Jeffersonville Saint Patrick's Day Parade tomorrow Saturday, March 16, from noon until 2 p.m.
