Exhibitors wanted for Barns of the Catskill Exhibition at Liberty Museum

LIBERTY - The Liberty Museum & Arts Center is seeking photographs, sketches, paintings and any other historical or artistic documentation for its upcoming exhibit, "Barns of the Catskills 2017". Whether you are a farmer with a functioning barn, a business in an old barn, living in a converted barn or have used barns as subjects in an artistic endeavor, the Museum would like your input whether photographs, architectural plans, paintings, sketches, models, including poetry. The Museum will be collecting stories and reminiscences to enhance the exhibit and to be added to the Museum's permanent collection.
Barns and farming have always been an integral part of the Catskills and the Liberty Museum & Arts Center is endeavoring to document and preserve this heritage. The Museum is seeking to document the agricultural presence in the Catskills, our immigrant ancestors' attempts to farm in a difficult environment and the barns that provided the necessary shelter and storage and to further document the rebirth of farming in our mountains.
The exhibit runs from Friday, June 9th through Saturday, July 29th.
Submissions should be sent to curator and Museum founding board member, Sharon Green at greendesigns@, to Sharon Green, PO Box 375, Youngsville NY 12791 or leave a message at (845) 482-4059. There will be a gathering for prospective exhibitors Saturday, May 13th, from 2 to 4 PM, at the Museum. The Liberty Museum & Arts Center is located at 46 South Main Street in the village of Liberty, across from the Key Bank.
