Ducky Day in Jeffersonville

A duck herder swims out to capture an errant duck.
The annual Jeffersonville Duck Race added a splash of color to the Callicoon Creek this weekend.
Volunteers released hundreds of plastic ducks into the water at the Backyard Park, herding them to the finish line at the Schadt Memorial Bridge.
With temperatures reaching into the 90s, the cold water was a welcome relief for the herders, while dozens watched the ducks make their way down the creek from the bridge and beyond.
The race was one of several events held throughout the day, including a touch the truck event in the park that featured vehicles from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, Jeffersonville First Aid Squad, Town of Callicoon and more. The village also played host to remote control car races and beer barrel races.
