Liberty Elks hop into Easter

Toni Stafford and her Grand Daughter Mason, age 7, shared lunch provided by Liberty Elks Lodge volunteers.
LIBERTY - The Liberty Elks' Easter bunny was hopping on March 24. He posed for photos with dozens of children at the Easter Egg Hunt hosted on the ball field by Liberty Parks and Recreation. Returning to his hutch at the Elks Lodge, he posed for photos with approximately 200 children. Later, the busy bunny made a special visit in the hills of Liberty to the home of eight-year-old Gabriella Lisacchi, who is battling Superior mesenteric artery syndrome, and her brothers.
The Elks Easter events were partially financed by a Beacon grant from the Elks National Foundation. Each family received a photo of their child or children with the big white rabbit.
Liberty H.S. students were the photographers and the photos were printed on the Elks' printer.
All children and their parents/guardians partook of a lunch of hot dogs, chicken nuggets, French fries and apple juice. Each child received an Easter basket as they left.
After the festivities at the Elks Lodge, the Easter Bunny and his photographer made a home visit to Gabriella Lisacchi, age 8, and her brothers Gavin, 6, and Gianni, 2. The children were awed at seeing the six foot tall Easter Bunny walk into their home. Gabriella asked her Home Care Aide and her mother Christina to turn her head so she could watch the bunny. The boys were shy at first , but sat on the rabbit's lap for photographs and a basket of treats, films and books from the Liberty Elks.
