Library to offer creative writing workshops

ELDRED — The Sunshine Hall Library in Eldred is pleased to announce that starting in January 2018 they will be sponsoring a series of free creative writing workshops. The workshops will be conducted by Helena Clare Pittman, an acclaimed author, art educator and illustrator, who has taught both children and adults. Ms. Pittman has successfully published 17 books, including “A Grain of Rice” which was named a New York Times Years Best Paperback Book and is widely used in school Math and Global Studies curriculums; and "The Gift of the Willows," named as best by Children's Book Council/ International Reading Association/Children's Choice Book Awards. These books, and many of Ms. Pittman's other titles, have been well reviewed by both Booklist and Kirkus Book Review.

The Creative Writing workshops are open to everyone and are being underwritten by a grant from Senator John Bonacic for the enhancement of the Sunshine Hall's Library programs.
All donations to the library are greatly appreciated.
The workshops will be held in the Main Reading Room of the Library on January 12th-January 26th and February 9th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Due to space limitations, it is important that you reserve a seat for the workshops by calling Patty Kennedy, Director of the library, at 845-557-6258.
