SULLIVAN COUNTY — The Village of Liberty Police Department arrested four juveniles on April 15 and April 16, 2019 after an investigation into a report of vandalism. On April 15, Liberty Police were called to an auto repair shop on North Main Street for a report of damage to several vehicles. Investigation revealed that a total 23 parked vehicles had been damaged with one or more of the windows being smashed out. Additionally a moped had been stolen from the property.

Investigation resulted in locating the moped at a local residence and identifying four juveniles, all 13 years of age from Liberty, that had been responsible for the damage. The juveniles were arrested and charged with criminal mischief in the 2nd degree, a felony served with family court appearance tickets and released to their guardians. One of the 13 year olds was additionally charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a felony, for stealing the moped.
