What remains of Kutsher's in Monticello is slowly disappearing as demolition crews first remove the inner furnishings and fixtures of the longtime resort, then prepare to raze much of the rest of the complex.
According to Thompson Supervisor Bill Rieber, that could now include the main hotel. Originally slated to be stripped down to its steel skeleton, the six-story building and its associated wings may be demolished entirely and a brand new hotel built to house the Veria Lifestyle resort and spa. Kutsher Road, which runs by the front entrance, was open yesterday, but it remains subject to temporary closure whenever workers have to be operating near the road.
