ROSCOE — U.S. Air Force Major Curtis J. Schwarz, a 2001 Roscoe Central School graduate has taken on a new role at the Goodfellow Air Force Base in Texas. On June 27, Schwarz was promoted to Commander of the 17th Logistics Readiness Squadron.
Schwarz has been in the Air Force since 2005, and has been on three deployments. Before his most recent promotion, Schwarz was the Aerial Port Operations Officer, 730th Air Mobility Squadron, Yokota Air Base, Japan. He directed all aerial port operations, transporting 100k passengers and 13k tons of cargo annually.
The son of Vicki Schwarz and the late Dave Schwarz, Curtis received the unit “guidon,” representing the formal exchange of command, from Colonel Jason Beck, 17th Missions Support Group Commander.
