State Police get sneak peek inside new Montreign casino

MONTICELLO — With the State Police working closely on security plans for the coming Montreign casino, troopers recently got a chance to see what most of the public will never view: the unfinished interior of the gaming floor.

Earlier this month, officers were given a tour of the casino, which included info about the security measures. While the State Police won't supplant the security team when the casino opens next February or March, they will have four to six investigators on site as part of the state gaming license's requirements.

Similar to Bethel Woods, the troopers will assist security and handle criminal investigations.

The visitors got to hear about more than security, however. The tour guides spoke about the “M Center” (a multi-use space for concerts, mixed martial arts events and more) and 10 “villa suites” which will each offer high-rollers their own personal swimming pool (representing 10 of the hotel's 13 pools).
