MONTICELLO — Police in Monticello are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday at the Evergreen Drive housing complex in the village. At 7:15 p.m. Saturday Monticello police received a report of shots fired in the area of the apartment's basketball courts.

The officers who responded found evidence of spent shell casings and blood on a sidewalk.

Police were notified shortly after that a 31-year-old Monticello man had been driven to Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris by private vehicle for treatment of a gunshot wound to the left ankle. The victim was later transferred to Westchester Medical Center for further treatment.
