LIVINGSTON MANOR — By all official estimates, 2017 is going to be a bad year for ticks and tick-borne illnesses.

So while we may welcome the warmer weather and the blossoms of spring, we also have to think about protecting ourselves and our loved ones.

You don't have to be sitting bait when it comes to tick protection.

Join Sullivan County Public Health Educator Jill Hubert-Simon, MS, for “Tick Talk: It's Lyme Time” on Saturday, April 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Morgan Outdoors in Livingston Manor.

The program will include information on identifying the different kinds of ticks in our area, and which ones cause Lyme Disease and other tick-borne illnesses.

Attendees will also learn ways to minimize the risk of getting bitten by a tick, and ways to reduce the number of ticks on their property and pets.

Topics will also include how to properly remove a tick if you do get bitten, and what to do and look for after a bite.

Reserve a seat for this program sponsored by Sullivan County Public Health Services by calling 845-439-5507.

Morgan Outdoors is located at 46 Main Street, Livingston Manor.
