SUNY Sullivan appointed its seventh President for the college, Jay Quaintance, who has served the college since June 2017. Along with the SUNY Board of Trustees, Elected officials and close friends and family were in attendance to see this historic event in the colleges history. “I want to thank the trustees for letting me lead the school to the future,” said Quaintance. “Lives are transformed by our efforts. We are committed to sustain the college for the next 50 years.” Before coming to SUNY Sullivan, Quaintance served as Assistant Secretary for Education in the Office of New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, where his work included Statewide P-12 and Higher Education budget, policy development, and implementation. Quaintance received both his Bachelor of Arts in English and his Master of Arts in rhetoric and the teaching of writing from New Mexico State University.
