WOODRIDGE — According to Woodridge Police, a six-year-old girl died Sunday after being hit by a car along Tabaczynski Road in Woodridge.

Shortly after 3 that afternoon, police say the girl darted away from her guardian at a bungalow colony and into the road, where she was struck.

Though rushed by Hatzolah to Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, Woodridge Police say the girl passed away the same day.

Neither the child nor the driver (who was not charged or ticketed) have been publicly identified by authorities, though the police did confirm that blood toxicology tests were performed on the driver, with results expected in a couple of weeks.

Also responding to the scene was the Woodridge Fire Department, New York State Police and the Town of Fallsburg Police Department.
