MONTICELLO — Local Accountant David G. Komatz has announced his candidacy as the Democratic Candidate for Sullivan County Treasurer.

“It's time for a new generation of leadership in Sullivan County, especially for this critical seat,” said Komatz.

Komatz reports that he feels confident in his ability to provide the change community members are looking for. He has over 45 years' experience as an accountant, along with multiple degrees and certificates in Accounting, Business Administration, and Criminal Justice, as well as over a decade of experience in fraud prevention and deterrence.

Komatz pledges to benefit the community by protecting property values, preventing property tax foreclosures, and deterring fraud within Sullivan County.

“For 32 years I have been your neighbor in Sullivan County. It's here that my wife of 44 years and I have raised our five children and watched our grandchildren grow,” Komatz said. “My love for family extends beyond my own - I want to help the families in our community. As your county treasurer, I can do just that.”

Komatz also pledges to work to protect the tax dollars of the hard working people of Sullivan County, improve property values, and work to keep people in their homes and out of tax foreclosure.

“Nothing is more important to me than my family, my faith, and serving others,” he said.
