With tents and infrastructure now being installed in Bethel, Mysteryland is set to make its second debut at Bethel Woods this weekend, and both day-trippers and campers will be greeted with all manner of auditory and visual spectacle.

Foremost amongst the sights will be the main stage, with two gigantic horses on either side. Attendance figures, however, may not be quite as large as hoped, with Mysteryland estimating 17,500 (about the same as last year) and Town of Bethel officials estimating 12,000-13,000 - far below the 30,000 for which Mysteryland has permission to host, perhaps due to a competing electronic music festival this weekend at the Meadowlands.

Regardless, the camping area is larger, and Mysteryland says campers will number 35 percent more than in 2014 (town officials estimate 7,000-8,000 total). Roads around the site are already closed or restricted in traffic, though Route 17B will remain open.

“After months of planning with town and state officials, the build of the Mysteryland 2015 site is under way and making amazing progress,” noted Project Director Brian Tamke. “With both local and international production teams coordinating to realize what is shaping up to be an absolutely breathtaking show, we cannot wait to open the doors to our fans for another magical edition. See you all very soon.”
