BETHEL — There's no question Sullivan County earned its place in musical history some 47 years ago. Woodstock remains one of the most famous music festivals in history.

But while more than half a million people came from outside of the county and into Bethel in 1969, Gavin DeGraw got his start right here in Sullivan County.

Born and raised in South Fallsburg, the 1995 Fallsburg Central School graduate is a Grammy Award nominee, whose song about growing up in the county was once a theme song for the hit TV show “One Tree Hill.”

And this weekend the county's most famous musician will be coming home to play the county's most famous musical spot.

DeGraw is kicking off a national tour to support his new album, Something Worth Saving, with a concert at Bethel Woods.

“I couldn't be more excited to start my tour at Bethel Woods!” the singer told the Democrat. “I have so many incredible memories on this property. I'm looking forward to coming home!”

This won't be DeGraw's first concert in Sullivan County since making it big, but it is his first at Bethel Woods, where he'll be joined by two Orange County musicians who are likewise making a mark on the national scene.

Andy Grammer of Chester, a graduate of Monroe-Woodbury Central School, has a hit single “Honey, I'm Good” getting regular airplay, while Aaron Tveit of Middletown earned national acclaim as Danny Zuko on Fox's “Grease Live” earlier this spring.

DeGraw, Grammer and Tveit perform on Sunday beginning at 7 p.m. and tickets are still available at www.bethelwoodscenter.org.
