NARROWSBURG - The first ever Logging Days event in Narrowsburg was a smashing success. Held over two days last weekend, the first day at the firemen's field featured lumberjack competitions, a food and vendor market, pie competition and much more. On Sunday, there was a pancake breakfast at Town Hall and a Tusten Heritage Bus Tour.

Saturday's festivities included a New York State Lumberjacks Association Competition. Men and women from all over competed in axe throwing, cross cut, springboard chop and more.

The competition was moderated by judges and an announcer got the large crowd riled up and excited to see who would take home victories.

Locals and visitors alike enjoyed the sunny day clad in their best plaid. And kids had fun playing games and going on the inflatable bounce house.
