WHITE LAKE - On Thursday May 12, at approximately 1:38PM, Sergeant Blake Starner of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Patrol was on patrol on State Route 17B in White Lake when he spotted a suspect driving a car, who he recognized as being wanted on a warrant from the Town of Thompson court.

Sergeant Starner stopped Chad LeBlanc, age 38, who gave addresses in Livingston Manor and Methuen, Massachusetts. LeBlanc, who was not wearing his seat belt, attempted to swallow something as Sergeant Starner approached the vehicle.

LeBlanc was found to be in possession of narcotic pills and suboxone. In addition to the vehicle being unregistered and uninsured, the license plates were reported stolen in Massachusetts the day before.

The passenger Lisa Jones, 34, of Livingston Manor was also not wearing a seat belt and found to be in possession of narcotic pills. She was charged with Misdemeanor possession of a Controlled Substance and released on an appearance ticket.

The driver Chad LeBlanc was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Stolen Property and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle, all Misdemeanors. He was also charged with several Vehicle and Traffic violations.

The outstanding warrant from the Town of Thompson was issued when he failed to appear on March 22, 2017 to answer a petit larceny charge. LeBlanc was arraigned before Judge Kevin Rhyne in the Town of Bethel Court.

The Judge set bail at $10,500 and LeBlanc was sent to the Sullivan County Jail to await a future court appearance.
