SULLIVAN COUNTY - Sullivan County Acting District Attorney Meagan Galligan thanks the Sullivan County Republican and Independence Party Committees in a press release on Sunday for joining the Sullivan County Democratic Committee in endorsing her candidacy for Sullivan County District Attorney.

Galligan stated, “I am proud that Sullivan County's Republican and Independence Party Committees have joined the Sullivan County Democratic Committee in recognizing my record of integrity, fairness and dedication to public safety with their endorsements. I thank each delegate for their thoughtful consideration of who is best to ensure that our homes and families are protected from those who endanger our safety, security and property.”

Galligan added, “The overwhelming voice of the committee members is a clear message that I am the best choice to hold the Office of District Attorney, which is a position that does and must transcend politics and partisanship. As your Acting District Attorney, I am proud to continue to work together with our police and advocate for the best interests of the People of Sullivan County, seeking justice on behalf of the victims of crime.”

Meagan Galligan is a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. She served as an Assistant District Attorney and Chief Assistant District Attorney before being sworn in as Acting District Attorney this January. Galligan has led the Office in successfully prosecuting the most serious crimes facing Sullivan County and defending those convictions on appeal for more than the past decade.
