ROCKLAND — Thursday evening, November 1, Town of Rockland Supervisor Robert Eggleton called the Town of Rockland's regular meeting to order as everyone shuffled down in their seats.

Upon approval of the minutes from their previous meeting, board members quickly opened the public hearing that had been set for 7:05 p.m. at their previous meeting, to allow the community to speak on or ask questions about the preliminary 2019 budget.

A motion was made to close the hearing upon receiving no public comment, and shortly after a motion was made by Councilperson Glen Carlson, seconded by Councilperson Edwin Edwards to accept the 2019 Budget. Eggleton and Councilperson JR Devantier were also in favor with Councilperson Joann Ryder in opposition.

Moving onto "old business," Eggleton explained that a final date for the NYPA LED street light kick-off celebration had been set for November 16, held inside the Town of Bethel Duggan School beginning at 11 a.m.

The Town of Rockland looks forward to beginning the installation of the lights, working alongside the other towns who are also participating.
