KIAMESHA LAKE -When the doors open at the Resorts World Catskills Casino on March 1, 2018, there will be 2,157 machines, each costing between $20,000 to $50,000, according to Charles Degliomini, executive vice president of governmental affairs and corporate communications for Empire Resorts. Some of those machines were being delivered Monday during a press tour of the sprawling complex.

IGT (International Games Technology) is the leading provider of the Resorts World Catskills machines, including its 4D games that take players to the next dimension of gaming entertainment. The game combines glasses-free, TRUE 3D, gesture recognition and technologies that create a multi-sensory experience.

Right now, some 800 construction workers are on site inside the 18-story casino, hotel and entertainment complex. The casino floor is approximately 100,000 square feet.

There will be 134 table games, including 19 poker tables to go with the slot machines. Degliomini said that part of the casino section will cater specifically to the Asian population, with employees who speak Mandarin.

High rollers will have private game rooms by appointment only.

The hotel consists of 332 all-suite luxury rooms, which include 12 penthouse suits, eight garden suites, seven two-story villas, two indoor pools, a spa and a fitness center. An Italian steakhouse created by celebrity chef Scott Conant will be the centerpiece of more than 10 varied bar and restaurant experiences that will also include Asian fine dining, a 24-hour café, food courts, and a sports and entertainment restaurant.

In addition, the complex will house a year-round, 27,000 square foot, 2,000-seat event center that can host major sporting events, concerts and also double as a conference center or wedding venue. The adjacent water park/lodge is also under construction and is expected to open in December 2018 or early January 2019, Degliomini said.
