Roscoe - The Roscoe business community and friends turned out in full force last Thursday to welcome a new business to town - Coldwell Banker Timberland Properties.

Nearly 125 people stopped by 62 Stewart Ave., Roscoe to tour the new, two-story office, and welcome hometown boy Travis O'Dell back to town.

O'Dell will be the Associate Broker/Office Manager of Coldwell Banker Timberland Properties' Roscoe location.

Timberland Properties Principal Broker and President Eric Wedemeyer said, “We love Sullivan County. Roscoe is the gateway to Sullivan County, which is such a beautiful area. We feel so welcomed and everyone has been very accommodating.”

This is the company's sixth location and first in Sullivan County.

The other locations are in Margaretville, Boiceville, Delhi, Sidney and Stamford.

New York State Senator John J. Bonacic said, “Congratulations. You couldn't have come at a better time. Sullivan County is a breakout county in prosperity. Tourism is up, unemployment is down and tax revenue is up.

“Our new resort casino will create 2,000 jobs. This will be the place to be,” Sen. Bonacic predicted. “This office will be very successful.”

O'Dell said the office is currently staffed by two people and the company is looking to hire new agents.
