Liberty's Ashton Barrett soared to victory in the boys long jump and triple jump.
JEFFERSONVILLE -- Track and field athletes from several schools including Sullivan West, Liberty, Monticello and Fallsburg took part in the 15th Annual Donna Deppa Invitational on Wednesday. The annual meet hosted by the Bulldogs is named in honor of Donna Deppa, a valued member of the community, avid fan and supporter of the track and field program who volunteered a significant amount of time to the program. She was a loving and devoted parent of two former Sullivan West track athletes, and the meet, originally named the Sullivan County Meet of Champions, was renamed in her honor after her untimely passing.
Before the 2000 steeplechase, Sullivan West honored their senior track and field athletes: Brandon Decker, Will Siegel, Victoria Arnold, Emma Hess, Sam Becker, Caitlin Brockner, Uma Bullock, Grace Gaebel, Tallula Gann, Corinne Laarmann and Kristen Lebron.
Wednesday's invitational was held at Sullivan West Elementary School a day later than intended due to rainy weather. At the end of a nice spring day, local athletes had reason to brag.

Monticello had several winners. On the boys side, Noah Rogers won the 110 hurdles, as well as the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Steve Bello captured first in the 1600 and 3200. Jadden Bryant, Akeem Warde, Christian Pedroza and Eli Rausch took first in the high jump, shot put, 400 and 400 hurdles respectively. And … the Panthers took the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 relays.
As for the Lady Panthers, Sarah Grodin won the 1500 and 3000, Zanaya Cooper won discus. The Monti girls also won the throwers relay.
For the host Sullivan West Bulldogs, Bryce Maopolski won the 2000 steeplechase, and Enouch Peters, Roan Gillingham and Henry Peters took first in the discus, pole vault and javelin respectively on the boys side of the results.
As for the Lady Bulldogs, Sam Becker won the 400 hurdles and pole vault, while Tallula Gann, Corinne Laarmann, Emily Bair and Grace Gaebel captured first in the 800, 2000 steeplechase, 400 and high jump respectively. The SW girls also won the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, as well as the freshman/sophomore sprint medley relay.
