18 motorcyclists ride for Boys and Girls Clubs

From the village of Wurtsboro all the way to Morningside Park in Hurleyville, 18 motorcyclists rode together on Saturday afternoon, September 24, for a charity event raising funds to donate to the Boys and Girls Club of the Town of Wallkill Inc.

The Sullivan County chapter of the Knights Order LEMC were joined by several other riders from different organizations and individuals.

The riders followed a route created by Knights Order’s Chapter and National Secretary, George Davila, who said that he created the route in an effort to show off bits of Sullivan County to his fellow riders on Saturday.

The event was organized by Knights Order’s Chapter Vice President, Scott Quick, who said the first charity ride was a success. He went on to say that the greatest part of the day was being able to get all of the riders together for the cause.

Set up at the final destination at Morningside Park in Hurleyville was live music from the Sullivan County-based rock band Steady Pulse, numerous raffle prizes, and food fresh off the grill.

Darcy Duggan, who organized the raffles which included a 2005 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, said that there were roughly seven thousand dollars worth of gift cards, goods, and prizes donated to the cause that were raffled off.

Sponsors of the event included O’Tooles Harley Davidson, Brew White Lake, Quality Pet Care LLC, the Miss Monticello Diner, Carmine’s Meat Market, Fallsburg Lumber Co. Inc., and Home Depot.

Knights Order Chapter President, Gabriel Espinosa, said that 100 percent of the profits are going to the Boys and Girls Club of the Town of Wallkill Inc.
