SULLIVAN COUNTY – Each year, the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA), the Arts Council for Sullivan County, with the support of the NYS Council on the Arts, administers Arts for Sullivan, providing grants to Sullivan County non-profits and individual artists. In 2026, grant applicants will be able to apply for more money than ever before!
• Sullivan County-based organizations can apply for project grants of between $500 and $7,500 for Community Arts and Arts Education projects.
• Sullivan County-based visual artists, musicians, writers, choreographers, filmmakers, etc. are encouraged to apply for an Individual Artist Fellowship of $5,000.
• In addition, the number of available mini-grants ($500 block grants) has been increased from two to four for 2026.
The 2026 grant application window is October 15 – December 3, 2025. All applications are to be submitted via the online platform, Submittable.
Arts for Sullivan guidelines, grant information, and information session registration links are now available at delawarevalleyartsalliance.org/grants/.
Grantees will be presented with their awards at a public award ceremony which will be held in May 2026.
Community Arts Grants
The Arts for Sullivan Community Arts grants assist nonprofits who wish to create or present arts, cultural, and heritage programming in Sullivan County throughout the year. Projects can be offered in-person or virtually. They can include theatre, music, dance, literary arts, folklore, installation, and visual arts, among other art-forms. Independent artists who wish to produce community art projects can work with a non-profit organization in Sullivan County acting as a fiscal sponsor. Applicants may apply for up to three grants with a total combined maximum total ask of $7,500.
Art Education
The Arts for Sullivan Arts Education grants offer funding support for arts education projects designed for closed groups of learners through two funding strands: Pre-K-12 In-School or After School Projects and Community-based Learning. Grants assist nonprofit organizations and artists working with a community partner or education center who are producing artistic educational programming in Sullivan County throughout the year.
Projects can be offered in-person or virtually. Projects must include a curriculum with a timeline, goals, and assessment tools. Independent artists who wish to produce educational art projects can work with a non-profit organization in Sullivan County acting as a community partner and fiscal sponsor.
Individual Artist Fellowships
Fellowships will be awarded to up to six artists who live and work in Sullivan County, to support the creation of new work. Each artist will receive $5,000. A community engagement component is required of each recipient. Applications will be accepted in the disciplines of Visual Arts, Literary Arts, and Compositional Arts.
The deadline for Individual Artist Fellowships is January 30, 2026.
Mini-Grants For Community Arts
The Mini Grants are an extension of the Arts for Sullivan Community Arts grant cycle.
The goals of this category are to help identify and support new and existing cultural projects that have not previously received funding to encourage and foster a relationship between the Arts for Sullivan program and untapped communities in Sullivan County. It offers a simplified application and rolling deadline.
For 2026, we are offering four $500 block grants. Applicants are limited to one request and the opportunity is available only to first-time Arts for Sullivan applicants. Applications for the 2026 Mini Grants opportunity will open December 4, 2025. Applications will be considered until available funds are exhausted.
Information Sessions
A series of free information workshops will be hosted in-person and online across Sullivan County, by DVAA to assist with effective grant writing, creating a budget, generating ideas, and networking with other artists and organizations.
Advanced registration is required, and new applicants must attend an information session. In- person and online workshop times and locations are listed below. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted on Submittable.com, our online submission platform. The 2026 grant application window is October 16-December 3, 2025*.
