Allen J. “Al” O’Keefe, a lifelong resident of Livingston Manor, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2025. He was 86.

Al was born on July 28, 1938, in Liberty, NY, the son of the late Francis Allen and Evelyn O’Keefe.

He is survived by his loving wife Joyce of 65 years and their two sons Allen (Chris) O’Keefe of Surf City, NJ and Scott (Mimi) O’Keefe of Youngsville, NY. He is also survived by seven incredible grandchildren Patrick (Tara) O’Keefe, Michael (Danielle) O’Keefe, Katie (Neil) Cashes, Daniel O’Keefe, Kristin Clifford, Jamie (Ricky) Rowe and Megan O’Keefe (Marty Horn). Also, nine wonderful great-grandchildren Jack, Skylie, Scarlett, Tucker, Cooper, Nolan, Carly, Richard and Ryleigh along with many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Al was a 1956 graduate of Livingston Manor Central School where he was an outstanding athlete and inducted into the LMCS Athletics Wall of Fame in 1995. Retired after a long career with the City of New York Board of Water Supply in Downsville, New York, Al devoted much of his life to volunteer activities, community involvement and most importantly, family and friends.

His interests and involvement included coaching Little League baseball, active member of the local Basketball and Baseball Associations where he served as a referee and umpire for high school games all across the region, Honorary Member of the Livingston Manor Fire Department, former member of the LMCS school board and various committees within the township. Al was also a long-time member of the Frog Hollow Hunting Club.

Al was predeceased by his brother Thomas O’Keefe.

Visitation was held at the Colonial Bryant Funeral Home in Livingston Manor, NY on Sunday May 18, 2025. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Monday, May 19th at 11:30 am. Burial was  at the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.

Memorial contributions can be made in Al’s name to the Livingston Manor Volunteer Ambulance Corps., 98 Main Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758.
