Former House Manager for New Hope Treatment Centers

Gaffney, SC – Ann Alvis Knack, 79, of 129 Carson Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at her residence.

  Born in Winooski, Vermont, she was the companion of Carl Knack and daughter of the late Norman Alvis and Dorothy Mousseau Alvis.  She was the former house manager for New Hope Treatment Centers in Rock Hill.  She loved her family, her dog “Mikey”, and was of the Methodist faith.

  Surviving are four daughters, Laurie Dutcher, Sherri Philpot (Eddie), both of Liberty, NY, Cindy Bowers (Doug) of Gaffney and Christie Ratner (Joe) of Jeffersonville, NY; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren. 

  No services are scheduled.

  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Salvation Army, P.O. Box 2087, Gaffney, SC 29342 or Gibbs Cancer Center, 101 E. Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or Spartanburg Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 2624, Spartanburg, SC 29304.

  The family will be at their respective homes.
