Arthur S. Moller (“Arkie”) passed away peacefully on January 21, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Arkie was born in 1934 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Jeffersonville, NY at a young age. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Arkie was a respected employee for NYSEG as a chief linemen for 45 years. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many.

 Arkie was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life, Grace Moller. He is survived by his children, Dianne Brady and Janet Scherf, his son-in-laws, Jim Brady and Carl Scherf, his granddaughters, Amy Shursky (Nicholas) and Stacey Finney (Brian), seven great-grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Catherine Krum, Virginia Keesler and Edna Edge and his parents; Victor and Lillian Moller.

Arkie was well loved by everyone who knew him, mostly due to his smile, kindness, patience and giving nature. He was a hardworking, outgoing and generous man. He had a great sense of humor and was a great storyteller with his fun and outrageous tales. He was the best at giving out compliments, making everyone in the room feel special and making friends anywhere he went. 

Arkie always took good care of his wife, daughters, granddaughters and three sisters. He loved nature, woodworking, gardening, working at NYSEG, traveling and eating cookies. Most of all, Arkie loved spending time with family and friends. 

He took an active role in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be missed by them.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to have had him in our lives for so many years. His decline began with the death of Grace because they were inseparable. His ashes will be joined with his beloved wife so they can be together again. 

A memorial service to remember him will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory can be made to your local animal rescue.
