Bears go undefeated!

GRAHAMSVILLE -- The Tri-Valley Bears (13-0, 6-0) are heading into sectionals on fire, finishing their season with undefeated record.

The Bears beat Class D-playoff bound Eldred, 11-2, on Tuesday with Jake Yager getting the win, striking out 18 and only allowing one hit. Sean Feliciano and Andrew Cox paced the Bears' offense with two and four RBI respectively.

Then on Wednesday, Tri-Valley beat Manor in a doubleheader to the tune of 13-0 in game one and 6-3 in game two.

In the first game, Feliciano got the win, striking out eight Wildcats' batters and only giving up one hit. Yager blasted two home runs out of the park and had four RBI for T-V. The second game, as indicated by the score, was much more competitive. Austin Hartman pitched three innings in relief for T-V, striking out three, and Cox had two RBI, including what ended up being the game winning RBIs in the sixth inning.

Monticello beats Fallsburg

The Panthers earned a 12-0 shutout win over Fallsburg on Tuesday. Monticello's Irvin Oestrich struck out eight batters. Pedro Rodriguez, Anderson Herm and Joe Hunderland had three, two and two RBI respectively.

Boys Golf

Clarke competes in Montgomery

Tri-Valley's Gavin Clarke went up against the region's best at the section 9 Boys Golf Championship on Wednesday at Stony Ford Golf Course. Clarke shot 103 on the day, and Newburgh's Mark Yan won the title, having shot 71.

Girls Golf

SW beats Valley Central

The Lady Westies (8-2) hosted Valley Central earlier this week, and defeated them 155-162. Gabby Cohen shot a day's best 40, and teammates Abby Parucki and Regan Russell shot 53 and 62 respectively.

Liberty faces Burke

The Lady Indians (7-4) were bested by Burke Catholic earlier this week on the road. It was a close contest with Burke winning 176-180. Corrine Hellerer, Emma Dworetsky and Abigail Simmons shot 58, 60 and 62 respectively.
