After the last few weeks and the loss of people on our lakes and rivers, be alert to water safety. Please, wear a Life Jacket when you’re on any body of water. Besides the devastated families, our emergency response teams know that one case is too many and can be avoided.

Be alert to ticks when hiking or in wooded areas. Thoroughly check your body and learn how to properly remove them.

When walking or running, use sidewalks or move against traffic, wearing bright colors. At night, use reflective strips or illuminate with accessories or flashlight. Be careful and follow the rules while biking and drivers, be alert that we share the road with bikes and motorcycles.

Lastly, please be aware of road workers and speed limits through work zones. We want infrastructure, roads and bridges repaired, so those with a lack of patience, try adding time to your drives. Calm down.
