Anniversary wishes to the Catalanos.

Rebecca “Becky’ Friedman turned 90 years young last week. Her nephew William told me that the former Bethel resident, now living in Monticello, was married to the late Leon Friedman and retired from legal secretarial work with Goldstein, then Ledina and lastly, with Bob Rosen. A special surprise birthday gathering was held at the WL Firehouse on the 30th with more than forty friends and relatives who traveled a great distance, some from as far away as North Carolina for the event. She was pleased and we further her blessings with good wishes for a future of health and happiness.

Congrats to SUNY Sullivan Coach, AD and Dean of Students, Chris DePew, who was recently inducted into the ‘NJCAA Men’s Basketball Coaches Assoc Hall of Fame’.

OK, this sounds ridiculous, but the FARTS were spotted in town last week. Brass-era cars, built before 1914, qualifies entry to this unique group. Using the Eldred Preserve as base for their Spring Catskill Tour, 24 members of the Friends of Ancient Road Transportation, drove through northeast PA and Sullivan County, including a stop at Bethel Woods.
