Happy anniversary to Nikki and Mike Kaufman and Paula and Bruce Kaufman.

Our sympathy is extended to Gloria, the family and friends of ‘Bucky' Roche. There are tributes and many stories of his impact shared about Coach Roche these last few days. He will be missed.

Reminder: For your sake and to protect others, please follow Covid-19 protocols, wear a mask properly and get tested if you have symptoms. Get a flu shot this fall and request one for pneumonia, too.

Food Security: Hunger and food shortage is a serious situation in our area. As winter approaches, many decide between food, medications or heat and in turn, rely on our local sources for help.

Contact the Town of Bethel about HEAP, assistance for heat, which is sponsored by local donations. Make food donations to local ‘Nourish your Neighbor' bins, directly to the pantry listed or contact me.

To Do: The deadline for an Absentee/Mail In Ballot is the 27th. Early Voting will be held Oct 24 to Nov 1st at the SC Government Center (BOE 807-0400 or sullivanny.us). Vote in person on Election Day, November 3rd. I hope you filled out the 2020 Census. The extended deadline was canceled!

Enjoy Autumn by visiting the Dog Park, the Reserve at Smallwood, or using the parks and NYS Trailkeeper.org trails. Bethel Parks & Rec ‘Dance It Off' is ongoing on Thursdays at 6pm at Duggan. The Duggan Past Perfect Bookstore is open limited hours on Tuesday - Thursday (583-7191).

Register for Bethel Woods' ‘Clay Animation Workshop for Teens'* at the Conservatory on the 20th at 6pm. There will be a free rabies clinic at SMV Firehouse on the 21st at 5pm. Call 292-5910 or Pre-register (www.surveymonkey.com/r/). The Adult Wellness Program, ‘Cultivating Resilience'*at the BW Conservatory will be offered on Wednesday, the 21st, at 6pm. On Thursday, the 22nd, Bethel Woods hosts a ‘Broadway Boosts Bethel' video with BD Wong and other Broadway stars, available for 72 hours, starting at 7pm.

Culture: The Catskill Distilling Co serves up events most every weekend. Call 796-6113 for the ‘Southern Fried Soul Sound Stage' schedule. Visit the Bethel Woods Museum and latch onto the augmented reality Tour, “Meet Me at Woodstock”. Bethel Wood's Silent Auction, “Help Us Share the Music, Again”* remains on-line until the 24th. Nesin Cultural Arts is presently doing a poinsettia and wreath ordering fundraiser (798-9006).

Support our artists, musicians and the area art centers. See what CAS, DVAA, HAC, and Narrowsburg Union are up to. CAS is encouraging local artists to create an “I Voted” button with a template kit (436-4227). Templates should be returned by the 27th to make the actual button. CAS Member Artists in good standing are to enter work for the December 12-26 Members Show starting Nov 14-Dec 5. DVAA is calling for submissions for their annual “Art in Sixes” small works, month long exhibit that opens November 21st. Work is due in by November 7th.
