The Town Board meets the 2nd & 4th Wednesday(IP-Z), Planning Board (IP) the 1st Monday and Zoning (IP) on the 3rd Monday. Attend these meetings, all open at Duggan at 7:30pm, to learn about current issues and voice your opinion.

Prevent wildfires! The NYS Burn Ban is in effect until May 14th. Check DEC.NY.gov for more information and allowances.

Bethel Lions Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month and encourages new members. Their familiar “Lion in the Lake” has converted to a ‘50/50’ raffle. Contact jimgordon83@gmail.com for more information.

Consider volunteering for WL, KL, or the SMV Fire Departments. The Bethel Ambulance Corp could use a hand.

Also, there is a need for blood donations, so check local Red Cross Blood Drive schedules.

Business Watch: Patronize BBA member and area businesses. Join the Bethel Business Association (like the fb page). Use www.bethelnybba.com as a services resource. Local businesses, Friends B & G, Town Camp and Sullivan 180 are hiring.

Get in Shape: Walk the Smallwood Forest Reserve trail or at the Dog Park. Try Tuesday afternoon pickleball at Duggan (generally, 4pm). Exercise at Duggan on Thursdays at 4:45pm. Explore Delaware Highlands Conservancy-Van Scott Nature Reserve acreage and trails.

Earth Day is celebrated on the 22nd. The MJFox Parkinson’s Unity Walk in Central Park, NYC steps off on Saturday at 8:30am. The SC Chamber Orchestra performs  “Bach’s Coffee Canata” at Hurleyville PAC on Saturday, the 22nd at 6pm/ reception from 8:30-10pm and at the Jeff Bake Shop on Sunday at 3pm/reception follows at 5:30-7pm. Artist alert: The Bethel Council of the Arts Exhibition at Narrowsburg Union opens May 6th.

Narrowsburg Union hosts the “Come As You Are” Art Exhibit through the 29th.

DVAA’s Spring Exhibition, with artists Joni Wehrli and Desmond Beach, runs until May 7th. DVAA is hiring a Development Associate, calling for artist sculptures for ‘Zoe Comes Home’ production backdrop and also signing vendors for the July 23 Riverfest (deadline 4/30).

Follow ‘Live from Nutshell Hall at the DVOC’ on Saturdays in Lake Huntington. Tkts: CollabonationProductions.com. ‘The Outcrops w/ The Barn Cats’ are scheduled for the 22nd at 7pm.

Look for good times at Cabernet Frank’s, Dutch’s, Rafter’s, 17 West Brewery and other area breweries.
