Bulldogs best Bears

LAKE HUNTINGTON -- The Sullivan West Bulldogs sent their boys basketball seniors off on a high note, winning their season finale over rival Tri-Valley, 34-25.

The Westies were down 15-12 at half, but had a good third quarter outscoring the Bears 15-4 with Cody Powell scoring 10. Powell led the scoring with 15.

“Great way for our seniors to end their SW career (Dan Hemmer, Jason Lowe, and Justin LeConey 2 years on varsity, Ryan Mace a 3 year starter and Cody Powell a 4 year starter),” said SW Coach John Meyer. “I thank them all for their contributions to our program and wish them nothing but the best for the future !”

Boys Basketball

Manor 46, Roscoe 38

The Wildcats split the season series with rival Roscoe, beating them for a nice road win on Thursday to the tune of 46-38. Manor's Devin Gonzalez and Connor Gorr scored 13 points apiece, and Roscoe was led by Collin Garofolo with 14 points and Alaniz Ruiz added 10.

Liberty wins

The Indians got the better of Sullivan West late last week, winning 43-38. Nasir Gibbs scored 19 points for Liberty, while Rayshawn Reynolds added 13 points.

Girls Basketball

T-V girls conclude season

Tri-Valley ended its season this weekend with a Saturday win at Livingston Manor by two (39-37) and a loss at home on Sunday to Middletown (39-23). On Saturday at Livingston Manor Tri-Valley was behind the entire game until the last few minutes of fourth quarter. Tri-Valley was led by Madison Botsford with 12 and Juliana Kessler with 11. Livingston Manor was led by Caitlin Evans with 10.

On Sunday, Middletown entered half time with a 12-point lead as Tri-Valley's numerous open shots were rimming out. T-V did outscore the "Middies" in the fourth but it wasn't enough. Tri-Valley was led by

Botsford with 11.

Coach Ter Bush was very proud of his team. “They stuck together and stayed positive even with more games canceled than played. Even though it was a very short compressed season, it was a pleasure coaching this group of girls. Thanks to all who made it possible for Basketball to happen during this time of Covid.”

Seward 43, Manor 21

The Lady Wildcats were defeated by S.S. Seward last week, 43-21. Sam Severing led Manor with 13 points.

Chester 58, SW 35

The Lady Bulldogs fell to Chester, 58-35. Taylor Wall led SW with 11 points.
