Call for entries for “Reflections on Father”

LIBERTY — The Liberty Museum & Arts Center invites artists, musicians and others to participate in a “Reflections on Father” to be held throughout the entire month of June 2023. Artists in all media, writers, musicians and anyone with memories to share are invited to submit their work and ideas. The Liberty Museum & Arts Center wants to know what FATHER means to you. Does it immediately bring up a favorite song? Do you picture a fond memory of being together? A place that he loved? A painful relationship? A sense of loss? What does it mean to you, personally? Fun you had growing up. Did he take you fishing? To the ball game?

However you would like to share your experiences, we welcome your submissions.    The artwork will be on display throughout the month of June as well as hosting a concert of father-themed songs.  We are also planning a roundtable panel where people can share their memories, talking about their fathers. Fathers-to-be are welcome as well.

Artists and makers, writers , musicians and the public are invited to apply.  Please indicate what your medium is and the nature of the proposal so we can plan the space your piece will occupy.

Send your ideas and photos if appropriate to the show curator, Naomi Frumess, at nfrumessfnp396@gmail.com  or call her at (845) 807-6656.  The Liberty Museum is located at 46 South Main Street in the village of Liberty.
