Carol Ann Schuller Kennedy of Wurtsboro (formerly of Monticello) passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 76.

The daughter of the late Louis Schuller and Clara Roth Schuller, she was born September 11, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY.

Carol wore many hats during her working years. She spent many years as a bookkeeper. Later, she enjoyed her time working in an adult home for the developmentally disabled. She spent many years volunteering as a religious educator at St. Peter’s Church in Monticello, NY. She also very much enjoyed being a volunteer Grandma for Head Start in Ellenville, NY.

Carol was the center of her family. She enjoyed nothing more than hosting and attending family gatherings. She enjoyed cooking and crafting with her grandchildren as well as reading Harry Potter books and watching the movies with them. Her love, wisdom and sense of family will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by a daughter: Carolyn Zayas and her husband, Carlos Zayas, of Montgomery, NY; three sons: Michael Kennedy and his wife Heidi of Monticello, NY, Gary Kennedy of Wurtsboro, NY and Matthew Kennedy and his wife Jennifer of White Lake, NY; seven grandchildren: Christopher and Emily Zayas, Brandon and Stephanie Kennedy, Kiersten, Carrie Ann and Hailey Kennedy; a great-grandson: Spencer Graves; two brothers: Robert Schuller of the state of Florida and Louis S. Schuller of Islip Terrace, NY;  two sisters: Clara Accomando of Holbrook, NY and Joan Easler of Brookhaven, NY as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister: Jeanette Schuller Sullivan; and two nephews: Joseph Accomando III and John “Sully” Sullivan.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 20 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral mass was celebrated on Friday, October 21 at 10:30am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello with Fr. Bob Porpora officiating. Her ashes will be interred with her parents at St. John of God Cemetery in Central Islip at a later date.
