Sylvan Garrelts made a first place podium finish for the middle school division. Caitlin Walsh, an 8th grader, finished in 2nd place and earned a podium finish.

The next state league event will be held at Lippman Park in Wawarsing on Sunday, April 24. Volunteers are needed that weekend, both Saturday April 23, and on race day.

“All of our kids were really excited to compete in their first race of the season, of course the weather didn’t cooperate and it was unusually cold for this time of year,” Team Director Keith Stephenson said. “The rain the day before made the course even more challenging. However, all of our kids are excited and looking forward to the next competition on the 24th.”
