Dale Guy Tompkins, age 73, of Baldwinsville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, on his wife's 67th birthday, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Liberty, NY to Clinton and Irene (Lewis) Tompkins. While in school, he enlisted in the military serving in the US Army. Dale was a self-made man who truly believed in living life to the fullest. He started working at John Deere in the 1960's and went on to own and operate two very successful companies. Dale was a member of the F&AM.

A man with much wisdom, he made wonderful friendships everywhere he went sharing his worldly knowledge, whenever possible. Dale loved to be outdoors enjoying flying, traveling, camping, boating and water skiing. He liked to dabble in the stock market and always had a good story to tell. He took great pride in his yard, making his lawn and garden worthy and cherished time spent at the barn running through the woods with his horses. He is predeceased by two sisters, Sherrie Nichols and Carla Houchultz.

Dale is survived by his loving wife, Jill (Weidaw) Tompkins, three children, Daniel (Eileen) Tompkins, Patricia Law, Julianne (Kasey) Fellows, six grandchildren, Erin, Meghan, Jillian, Nia, Gaige and Rip, three sisters, Jacquelyn Tompkins, Dee (Horace Harry) Brezinsky, Joy Tompkins, two brothers, Clinton (Leslie) Tompkins, Christopher (Nadeeka) Tompkins, his former wife, Kathleen (Fridley) Tompkins (Donald Tolhurst). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, many good friends, especially those at Midway Stable and his trusted steed, Apache.

There will be no services held at this time. A celebration of Dale's life will be held at a future date in the spring or summer.
