Briskie, her husband Leonard John Van Der Wiele, her son James Allen, her grandson Leonard (Lenny) Van Der Wiele, her daughter-in-law Jeannie Van Der Wiele and her longtime companion Kenneth Bowersox.
She is survived by her 6 children: April-Jo (Patrick) Graham-WI, Carla-Rose Van Der Wiele – IL, Tami-Lyn Brinkley-VA, Jody-Lee (Virginia) Van Der Wiele-NY, John Leonard Van Der Wiele-NY and Nori-Alyce (David) Schaut-TN. 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 5 great-granddaughters-in-law and 1 great-grandson-in-law. Dale was a farmer’s daughter, graduating from Chester High School, Chester, NY. She attended Nursing School in NYC. She worked at Orange Farms Home and Infirmary as a CNA in Goshen, NY. She was an avid reader and loved collecting recipes along with doing arts and crafts. Believing in God and a better place. In the early 1970’s she began the impossible: raising her 6 children alone with no help from anyone. We came from the humblest of beginnings. She gave us all the Love in the world unconditionally. She was the foundation stone (matriarch/patriarch) which our lives were built upon. She was our Rock, and we are her Pebbles.
Per Dale’s request, there will be no services held. Her ashes will be scattered from the East Coast to the West Coast. Returning to the earth from which she came. For remember her as she was. She will be greatly missed by her children and all who loved her.
Dip your toes in the oceans and “Go Rest High on the Mountains Mom, your work on Earth is finally done.”
