Darcy Marie Duggan passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 17th, 2025. Born on January 14th, 1972 to parents Gail A. (Goodwin) Stiene and the late Edward J. Stiene, Darcy was truly unforgettable.

Darcy was a 1990 graduate of Monticello High School, where she was a member of the Catholic Youth Organization and the Drama Club. She attended Buffalo State College from 1990-1993 where she was a member of the Rugby Team.

In 2000, she began a 19-year marriage to Dan Duggan, with whom she welcomed a daughter, Gailen, on August 31, 2001. Gailen was Darcy’s pride and joy, and Darcy was very active in Gailen’s life, acting as a volunteer in her Girl Scout Troops, serving as a Port Jervis PTA member from 2007-2010, and acting as head of fundraising for the Middletown High School Theater Drama Club from 2016-2019. Darcy loved sunflowers, lighthouses, and motorcycles, and actively supported the Knights Order LEMC Bike Club for about four years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward J. Stiene; grandmother, Patricia Ruth (Darcy) Goodwin; grandfather, John Joseph Goodwin; uncle, Kevin Goodwin; uncle, Joseph Siene; grandmother Mary (Dexheimer) Stiene; grandfather, Henry Stiene; aunt, Maureen Stiene; and cousin, Joel Signor.

She is survived by her daughter, Gailen Duggan (Jacob); her mother, Gail Stiene; sister, Dana Stone (Scott); husband, Dan Duggan (separated); aunt, Jennifer Goodwin; uncle, Henry “Hank” Stiene; aunt, Evelyn Stiene; cousins, Megan Signor, Aimee (Goodwin) Rosenblatt, Matt Stiene (Tammy), Melissa Baker (Bill), Autumn Beeman (Mark), and Joseph Stiene (Kimberli); and nieces, Daphne and Fiona Stone. Darcy’s family would like to thank the Talas Family, and their many friends for their support during this difficult time.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 21 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22 at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello with Fr. Bob Porpora officiating.
