David L. Tucker of Roscoe, NY, a retired Building Engineer for the County of Sullivan and a longtime area resident, died Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Garnet Health Medical Center in Harris, NY. He was 85.

The son of the late Clinton and Helen Pound Tucker, he was born November 3, 1935 in Oneida, NY.

David was a Communicant of the Gate of Heaven Church in Roscoe, NY. Before being employed by the County, he worked for Benedict & Hammerstrom Architectural Firm in Roscoe, NY for several years. David enjoyed music and had been a drummer for the George Ardito Band and later the Micky Barnet Band, playing at many of the Catskill Resorts. He is a former member of the Roscoe Hose Co. # 1.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Shirley A. Clark Tucker, at home; two sons, Bruce D. Tucker of Roscoe, NY and Frederick P. Tucker of Tarpon Springs, FL; two grandsons, Jacob D. Tucker and Joel W. Tucker; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, George Tucker and a sister, Lorraine Mears.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY. Social distance guidelines and face covering will be required.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10 AM in the Gate of Heaven Church, Highland Ave., Roscoe, NY. Father Antony David will officiate.

Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
