The remnants of Hurricane Debbie hit western Sullivan County hard on Friday afternoon in early Saturday, leaving downed trees, flooded roads and hundreds without power for a day or two. In photo above, workmen workon replacing several utility poles which were knocked down on the Dugway between Callicoon and Hortonville when a big tree toppled over. Several hundred people lost power and work was completed Sunday afternoon. Work crews from electric companies throughout the state were on standby to help deal with the outages. Road crews from the state, county and town levels were also busy working on damaged roads and bridges from the hardest hit areas. See page 1B for more. storm coverage.
