Donald I. Tulp, 87, of Liberty, NY passed away surrounded by family and love at Westchester Medical Center on Saturday, September 7, 2024.  He was 87.

Don grew up in Bethel, NY on a small farm, and later moved to Liberty, where he started a family of five children with his wife Aileen. He became a successful businessman, owning Liberty Pest Control for many years.

Later in life, he has spent the past 35 years with his wife, Jeanne Tulp, two additional children, and their hobby and adventure of opening a bed and breakfast, came with much success. Lazy Pond Bed and Breakfast was a successful business and welcoming addition to the community.

Don was always a quiet man of few words, with big meaning. He was a stand-up man, who always did the right thing, a wonderful role model, and lived by the theory, everything had to be ‘Top Shelf!’

Don was predeceased by his parents, Ike and Molly, brothers, Joe and John. Don is survived by his wife Jeanne Tulp of Liberty; children, Michael Tulp and wife Anne-Marie, Donna Tulp, Daniel Tulp, Robert Tulp and wife Tracy, Kim Tulp and husband Joe, Tammy Franklin and Matthew Lare; his nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.  Funeral services will begin at 1 PM in the funeral home.  The Rev. Robin Sostak will officiate.

Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY. 

Celebration of Life to follow after burial at Lazy Pond Bed & Breakfast: 79 Old Loomis Road, Liberty, NY 12754.  All are welcome.
