Door #3

Most of us have seen television shows where contestants have been given a choice of prizes that are behind three doors. They may be shown one prize at a time, but still have to decide whether they will keep what they've already seen or take a chance on the unknown “prize” behind the third door.

Sometimes life can be like that. We may not like what we've already seen behind the first two doors, but are not quite sure we even have the option of a third door, as in times when we find ourselves between a rock and a hard place. If Door #3 should appear, will it be any better?

This is the situation that the Israelites found themselves in when God had miraculously delivered them from their slavery and bondage from Egypt. They rejoiced to be on their way to the Promised Land, but suddenly they found themselves with the raging Red Sea before them and the Egyptian army pursuing from behind. And they didn't see another option.

As the one million Israelites were thrown into a panic, Moses told them to not be afraid, but stand still and watch the Lord rescue them. Moses had found Door #3. The Lord Himself would fight for them as they stayed calm and trusted Him. (See Exodus 14:13-14.) The rest of this chapter tells the story of the miraculous deliverance through the Red Sea.

2 Kings 4:1-7 tells the story of a widow who had no means of support and the creditor was coming to take her two sons as slaves because she couldn't pay her debt. This would not solve her problems, and she had no other options. The prophet Elisha told her about Door #3.

After finding that the widow had a small jar of olive oil left, he had her sons go ask all the neighbors for their empty jars, as many as they could get. Then he instructed the widow to pour the little bit of olive oil she had left into all those empty jars. She filled jar after jar, and finally the oil stopped when the last one was filled. They were able to sell the miracle oil to pay off the debt.

You, too, may find yourself between a rock and a hard place right now, and you cannot see any possible solution in the natural. But Door #3 is the unseen, supernatural miracle that only the God of the impossible can supply.

Are you having to choose between buying food or the medications you need? Or with winter quickly approaching, will your dilemma be between buying fuel to heat your home or food to feed your family? God's supernatural miracle of provision is waiting for you if you will trust Him.

Have the doctors said there is no further treatment available for an illness or infirmity that leaves you living in excruciating pain each day, or worse, heading for certain death? The God of hope is able to pour out His supernatural healing upon you.

Have you or a loved one been unable to break free from addictions, even after trying more rehabs and programs than you can count? There is a God of breakthrough who can come through for you with supernatural deliverance.

There is always a third option available to whatever impossible situations we are facing. The God of the impossible is waiting for you to ask Him.
