Dorothy (Dot) Helen McCormack, of Narrowsburg, a retired banker/administrative assistant passed away on Monday, June 26th, 2023 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, NY. She was 84.
The daughter of the late Lester and Elsie (Koberlein) Bonhard, she was born on November 30th, 1938 in the boarding house where she was raised in Narrowsburg, NY. She was the widow of the late Basil (Mac) McCormack. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg, a member of the Kickin’ Boots Line Dancers of Beach Lake, and a member of various bowling leagues over the years.
She was an avid traveler. She had visited all 50 states as well as several countries and would always strike up a conversation with any traveler. She especially loved her time working at Yellowstone, where she made lifelong friendships. Whether it was bowling, line dancing, camping, snowmobiling, or traveling, Dot always made new friends that she kept for life. She also loved spending time with her family and will be deeply missed by them and friends alike.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin (Michael) LaFountain, Tammy Burns, Jodi Hendrickson, and Penny (Robert) Sellars; step-children Susan McCormack, Brian McCormack, John (Susan) McCormack, and Elizabeth (Micky) Bernitt; thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn (John) Vannatta, several cousins, nieces, and nephews including her goddaughter Debby (Mark) Younger, as well as her companion Ken Baim.
She was pre-deceased by her sister Jean Hendrickson, and brother-in-law Merlin Hendrickson.
Services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 6th, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg. Her favorite color was orange and people are encouraged to wear something orange in her honor. Burial of her ashes will be immediately following the service at Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg or the Lava Fire Company.
