For 17 years, the Greater Barryville New York Chamber of Commerce has been hosting the annual tree lighting to the glee of the residents, visitors, family and friends of Barryville.
Master of Ceremonies Erin West was joined by Franklin Trapp, Mike Edison, the Yulan Brass Duo and a cast of holiday characters to warm the crisp fall night near the Delaware River.
This year, there were three ways to enjoy the holiday show - from the comfort of your car, in person, or over the radio on WJFF Radio Catskill.
After an array of holiday singing and dancing, and when the moment came for the large and tall holiday tree to be illuminated, West was hoisted up high into the night sky via a crane bucket to countdown and light the Barryville Holiday Tree located in the corner of Routes 97 and 55.
The holiday season officially kicked off in Highland with the music filling the night air, smoke billowing from the fire pits, and hot drinks in hand.
