LOCH SHELDRAKE — Student-athletes, spectators and families from more than 160 schools, 700 wrestlers across eight states will be descending upon SUNY Sullivan’s Paul Gerry Fieldhouse this weekend to participate in the 20 year anniversary of the Eastern States Classic.
The regional event, created in 2004, brings top wrestling talent from across the northeast as athletes vie for supremacy on the mat in the two-day tournament.
Doors opened at 7 a.m. this morning, and wrestlers will be competing late into the evening to vie for the chance to medal on day two tomorrow.
