Edward James Lenihan of Forestdale, MA, passed away on October 3, 2025. He was the Son of the late Edmund and Gertrude (McGrath) Lenihan, born on March 7, 1932 in Flushing, NY. On September 14, 1963, he married the former RuthAnn “Jane” (Bury) Lenihan at St. Joseph’s Seminary, Callicoon, NY.

Graduated from Babylon High School, Babylon, NY. Serviced his country in the US ARMY, attaining the rank of Corporal in the far East during the Korean War.

Served 24 years in the New York State Police, retiring as an investigator in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations. Was later employed by Cablevision Industries of Liberty, N.Y. as Regional Manager of Massachusetts Cablevision, Foxborough, MA.

He is a member of the American Legion Post #188, Sandwich, MA and the Assoc. of former N.Y. State Troopers, Tri-State Chapter, Newburgh, NY.

Predeceased by his wife of 47 years, RuthAnn “Jane” (Bury) Lenihan, and his sister, Mary Jane Bacon of Manhattan, NY. Edward is survived by his nieces and nephews.

He was a kind and thoughtful man and will be missed by many.
