The Sullivan County Democrat’s Tuesday, April 25 edition will be delayed by 12 hours due to a fire at the North Jersey Media Group, printers of the Democrat.
“The printing plant’s main control room caught fire on Sunday morning after the workers went home and was not discovered until 8 a.m. Sunday,” Stabbert said. “There are currently two presses not working within the facility, which has backed up the production of 24 daily newspapers and more than four dozen community newspapers.”
“Our staff worked all weekend, covering the tornado in our county as well as working on designing our coverage,” Stabbert said. “Through our staff’s heroic efforts, we had our newspaper ready for press by 11 a.m. on Monday, but cannot get on press until 2 a.m. Tuesday, 12 hours later than planned.”
The Democrat will make every effort to get the newspaper delivered to all Sullivan County post offices on Tuesday.
