Elizabeth J. Peters of Callicoon, NY, a homemaker and lifetime area resident, died on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Garnet Medical Center Harris, NY. She was 80. The daughter of the late Edward and Gladys Burlingame Hinkley she was born May 22, 1941 in Livingston Manor, NY. She was the widow of Donald Peters, Sr.He died on September 4, 1995.

Betty was a member of the Fremont Community Church in Fremont Center, NY.

She is survived by her children: Donald “Butch” Peters Jr. and his wife Liz of Callicoon, NY, John Peters and his wife Ann of New Milford, PA, Kenneth Peters and his wife Donna of Callicoon, NY, Dennis “Buck” Peters and his wife Sue of Youngsville, NY and Jeanne Hanslmaier and her husband Edward of Callicoon, NY. By her siblings: Roy and his wife Diane of Michigan , Bruce and his wife Frances of Bradley, NY and Warren and and his wife Joe of Liberty, NY and her sister-in-law Terry, 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by an infant daughter Katherine, two grandsons Derrick Hanslmaier and Joshua Rickard and by two brothers Harry and James.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, NY. Funeral services were at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Heavenly Rest Cemetery North Branch, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fremont Community Church.
